One small grammar mistake appears in essays, captions, spoken answers, and classwork: “Every students need practice.” The correct sentence is:
The rule is simple: every is followed by a singular noun, and the verb also follows a singular pattern.
Use this structure:
every + singular noun + singular verb
Examples:
Even though every can refer to many people or things, English treats it like one item at a time. That is why we say student, not students.
In the present simple tense, a singular subject usually takes s/es with the verb.

Here are some wrong and corrected examples:
❌ Every people have problems.
✅ Every person has problems.
❌ Every students are different.
✅ Every student is different.
❌ Every class have homework.
✅ Every class has homework.
Be careful with people. It is plural, so after every, use person instead.

For regular writing practice, you can use the Essay Writing Practice Tool and underline every sentence that starts with every before you submit or revise your answer.
Do not think of every as “many together.” Think of it as “each one separately.” That one idea will help you remember the grammar: every student needs, every learner improves, every sentence matters.
